- You will need a piece of grosgrain ribbon in 3/8", enough to go around the clip.
- A pinch or alligator clip.
- A glue gun
- Scissors
Start by measuring your ribbon, open your clip up and insert your ribbon to enough to cover the top inside of your clip, and close your clip with the ribbon inside. Take the ribbon up over the top of your clip and up & over the pinch of your clip to the bottom of your clip, but stop just when you reach the bottom of your clip where the pinch ends and the clip will continue. Make your cut on your ribbon here. Now you are ready to glue this on. Take your cut piece of ribbon and put a small amount of glue on one side of the ribbon, open your clip up and put the ribbon back inside just like you did when you measured the ribbon. Wrap the ribbon back around the clip using caution not to get the glue into the gears of the clip, by the pinch end of the clip. After you have wrapped the ribbon back on, take the top of the clip and press the ribbon pieces together to help it stick. Now you should have a clip with ribbon covering the inside top, outside top, going over the pinch end and finishing at the bottom of the clip, just after the pinch ends. This leaves the very bottom of the clip uncovered. I recommend this way because when you slide this into the hair it will not get stuck and snag hair, making it uncomfortable to wear.

Using the same methods as above, only taking the ribbon all the way over the bottom of the clip, into the inside bottom piece, covering all metal completely.
